Post-Surgical Recovery and Lymphatic Drainage in Flower Mound
Recovering from surgery often involves swelling, fluid retention, tissue tightness, and temporary movement limitations. Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is designed to support the body's natural healing processes following cosmetic, orthopedic, and general surgical procedures. Sessions are customized to your surgical timeline and performed with clinical precision in a private, appointment-only setting in Flower Mound, TX.
Cosmetic Surgery Recovery
Cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, tummy tuck, BBL, breast augmentation, breast reduction, and other body contouring surgeries often result in temporary swelling, fluid retention, and tissue firmness during the healing process.
Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is designed to support the body's natural recovery process by encouraging healthy fluid movement and helping manage post-operative swelling. Sessions are customized based on your procedure, recovery timeline, and surgeon recommendations.
Common goals include:
-
Reduction of post-operative swelling
-
Improved tissue softness and comfort
-
Support of normal healing processes
-
Management of fluid retention
-
Reduction of tissue firmness associated with recovery

General Surgery Recovery
Many non-cosmetic surgical procedures can result in temporary swelling, restricted movement, and localized fluid accumulation during recovery. Lymphatic drainage may be appropriate following physician-approved procedures such as hysterectomy, abdominal surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and other general surgical procedures.
Sessions are adapted to your stage of healing and individual recovery needs. Treatment focuses on supporting healthy circulation of lymphatic fluid while helping clients remain comfortable throughout the recovery process.
Potential benefits may include:
-
Management of post-surgical swelling
-
Improved comfort during recovery
-
Support of healthy fluid movement
-
Assistance with mobility limitations related to swelling
-
Support of the body's natural healing response
A Note About “Pre-Vacation” Lymphatic Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage has recently been promoted on social media as a pre-vacation “detox,” debloating treatment, or quick method of making the body appear slimmer. This is not the clinical purpose of manual lymphatic drainage, and it is not how the lymphatic system works.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a specialized, gentle technique used to support the movement of lymphatic fluid when there is a legitimate clinical or recovery-related need.
MLD does not:
-
Remove body fat or produce true weight loss
-
Permanently flatten or reshape the abdomen
-
“Flush toxins” from an otherwise healthy body
-
Empty or reset the lymphatic system before traveling
-
Prevent fluid retention that may occur later
-
Guarantee visible cosmetic changes after one session
Some people may experience a temporary reduction in fluid-related puffiness. However, this represents the movement of fluid—not fat loss, permanent body contouring, or detoxification. The lymphatic system is not a reservoir that can be emptied in preparation for a vacation or flight.

-
General “detoxification”
-
Routine bloating without a clinical indication
-
Preventive drainage before flying
